escape velocity makes me feel sooooooo many things <3 love it so much

A garage/techno hybrid that delivers on all accounts. Intricate and swinging rhythms, atmospheric synths, spacious dubs, lots of tension and progression, lot's of variation and of course deep grooves and big basslines.

UNBALANCE starts out in a factory, as the machines do their business. And it's not until the dubstep beats in the background start coming to the fore do you realize that the machines are made to dance. So 2562 is off to good start as "Flashback" gets deep and bleepy, and "Lost" brings in some R&B warmth. "Like A Dream" lumbers along with an off-kilter rhythm and "Dinosaur" sparkles. The beats throughout stay broken and unsteady, which lends a fascinating rhythmic interest (not to mention the bongos on "Narita") . "Yes/No" edges into slightly more mysterious territory, while "Who Are You Fooling?" has an almost jazz-like texture to its chords. "Escape Velocity" ends the album on a pure techno note. Some nice work here.
