Interesting EP. Some really funny skits on the B side bursting into the surreal. Chopps Derby's flow is unusual on first listen, but check again and notice the subtle style and rhyme meter. Hears like MF Doom esq. but oddly English Northern. Each track holds an interesting narrative, all the production is great. Nice to hear throughly produced Hip Hop music. I imagine Chopps may well shake up the UK Hip Hop scene a little. I cannot see them getting the multi layers of meaning or social commentary or satire, but we'll see. They might well just want to fight him rather than explore the esoteric references and vocal sample fragments, but I'm sure those at The Gull's Trunk would relish the thought. All in all: Good and very well worth owning. Could end up being like one of those early first releases that you wish so bad you bought, before they multiplied many fold. I'm glad I bought it.
