Oh yes a Fred Dove SAM special! An absolute must-have for ANY DJ alive; full stop. (It's awful, and a travesty of bad-luck when your original copy has been lifted from your record box.) To quote the WEA DJ absolute bio: "We Say-ed it when We Played it"If the original DJ/Radio/Club mailing list of Fred's was stuck to then CBS Aylesbury will have cut and pressed just 400 copies. That's 400 world wide from a UK exclusive, How many Warner employees at both Broadwick St and out at Alperton Lane "lifted" copies from the cupboard. This is DJ holy grail is fought over almost as much as the numbered and limited USA Proms's Fred had and mailed out of the USA re-tweaked and oomphed Eumir Deodato "Whistle Bump" A fully compiled list of all the WEA family SAM's (Samplers) would be something to oggle and in many cases,cry over.The quality of the cut and pressing is (or in my case, was,) to die for; great sonic perfection, deep, punchy and gutsy. (I should have claimed on my insurance, hope the thief got a drink spilt over it or left it out in the sun. gerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.)This original promo 12" is crying out for a retro-style re-pressing of it. It will be a massive £8.99 seller, if only just for DJ vanity. Note to the vinylists/marketers/re-pressers, just remember to cut it @ 33.3 not 45! Include the matching black thick die-cut sleeves with the white boxed graphics "Limited Edition". Aww, don't forget that all important tell-tale shrink wrapping!Whist from a professional DJ's point of view, it is NOT SAM 60, spinning on the 1210; YHRF (OV) did get an eventual 12" UK release (1986 W 8060(T) ), however as the B side Track 1 "original version" to an A side remix version + B side Track 2 instrumental. Luckily to differentiate the 1986 records were pressed with the colour WB shield on a crisp white background with rows of faint shields labels, with naturally of the time, an illistrated picture cover. The only + here is that sonically the original version cut as Track 1 on the B side should almost match SAM 60, no comment on the remix! Note that YHRF had another insult to injury added in 1999, with more needless and silly remixes, these are independent re-recordings and have no physical relation to the tapes used here and again (commissioned) in 1986. To professional DJ's labels/editions matter, your contemporaries are everywhere and may just be spying on what is revolving! :(

This 12 inch version is NOT the Mike Mauro mix. This 12 inch barely runs to 4 minutes long the Mauro mix is 6:40. DiscoCat78 "claims" to have a copy of this rare and highly sought after 12 inch, if he bothered to play it he would know the vocals kick in after about 10 seconds whereas on the MM mix they don't kick in until around 1:25 so are clearly two different mixes! What a joke...
