“We Defy Oblivion” blends The Sweetest Condition’s signature synthpop sound with electrorock and industrial influences, paired with thought-provoking lyrics. The album is the follow-up to the duo’s 2015 debut self-release, “Edge of the World.” Lyrically, the album explores the current chaotic state of the world, interpersonal relationships and what it feels like when things hit a boiling point. At its core, the music serves to inspire others to feel empowered.
