While being another legendary belgian trance anthem made by Mr Sam & Fred Baker, "You & Me" is the last epitome of how great belgian trance was in the late 90's. It sums up a decade of leadership from the country with a perfect mastery of relaxing basslines, deep breaks, lush pads, melancholic chords. The whole trance world was starting to shift towards either a more 'euro' commercial or sleepy-progressive-vocal sound, with strictly defined build up rules and 'Roland Supersaw' sound palette, so this 12min track is in my heart kind of the "last man standing" caviar release made with the original Yeti spirit, artistic love, passion & authenticity. This is the quintessence of emotional trance art. An absolute must-have !

Spot on. I remember crate digging when that was a thing you didn't purport to do back in 2001 and discovering this in Up Front records in Barnstaple. I think it may have been the pivotal moment in my musical taste. I went on a date that night, she rebuffed my advances, but hey, I did have Blue Screen - You & Me and for a little while me and Mr. Sam were in touch back then when we used to get things in the post... But this is an A1 track of its time. Best of 2001 by far.
