From the rear sleeve: "These are 2001 re-recordings and not the original tracks."

As already pointed out, the release notes clearly read "These are 2001 re-recordings and not the original tracks." for four years already. It's a buyer's own responsibility to check whether an intended purchase is really the desired item. If the seller listed the item correctly (and that appears to be case here), the buyer can only blame himself for the disappointment and not throw it back on the seller. Take your 'loss' and move on I'd say.

Im sure it isnt Jaki Graham, David Grant and Linx singing, its sounds like session musicians and singers, Examples are: Set me free by Jaki Graham the chorus is sung in the wrong key, Could it be im falling in love the solo is played by a Saxophone and should be a clarenet and words are missed during the singing, Heaven Knows by Jaki Graham, there is no moog Synthesiser Bassline. Mated isnt sung by David Grant and Jaki Graham on the cd, AND Round and Around Sounds like Jaki Graham but there are different instruments being played to the original which I have. and the whole CD sounds flat (without mastering) so if you bought this CD as a fan and didnt think much of the CD after you played it, the above is why, because it sounds like session musicians and singers that are trying to sound like the original artists but couldnt afford the instruments or somebody is playing their own instruments over accaplla (Just Vocals), also there is no reverb on any of the recordings.

it was clearly stated in the release notes on this release page that they were re-recorded. that is clear enough an explanation and indication that the tracks would not sound the same as the original released versions. it doesnt say remastered, it says "These are 2001 re-recordings and not the original tracks." how much clearer could it be? that data has been on the release page since it was created 4 years ago. you only have yourself to blame for not noticing that very clear fact. it is your responsibility to notice exactly what release it is that you are purchasing, not the sellers. the seller's responsibility is to list the item correctly and deliver the item to you, which from the sounds of it, they accomplished both those feats. your complaints are moot.

I love Mercedes
I will stick to the original recordings thanks, but it would have been nice for the seller to have told me they were re-recorded versions but they didnt even know themselves because they had never listened to the CD and If I compare them to the original versions, they still dont sound like the original artists.

Heaven Knows was originally released in 1984 - these tracks were re-recorded in 2001, 17 years later. of course the voices are going to sound different from what you remember them to sound like. they are not the original recordings, but they are the original artists. it's right there in the release notes, "These are 2001 re-recordings and not the original tracks." black & white. you can't blame anyone but yourself for not catching that. as for the production values, well, i doubt they were getting many offers from labels, so when they were approached to re-record some old tracks for a budget label, they went for it. it gets them back in the studio, but unfortunately for fans like you, the result isnt as glossy as one would hope.
