Notes

This release has many errors consisting of catalog number variations, "SLA - 14" (artworks) and "SLA14" (compact disc), title variations, "Happy • Hard Live Mix" (front cover) and "Live Mix" (artwork spine), artist variations, "DJ Trevor" (front cover, artwork spine & compact disc) and "DJ Trevor Riely" [aka Dyewitness] (back inlay) and despite being listed as a 74 minute mix on the front booklet and back inlay, the actual running time is only 60 mins 16 secs.

In addition to this, it neither has a tracklisting or any track increments. It does however have a brief description of this release which states "DJ Trevor is Scotland's number 1 techno DJ, with credits like Dyewitness, Forze Records & Casio Brothers & many more releases on labels worldwide. Captured live in the mix while touring Australia with The Nightraver. Loads of new happy hard - energy recorded into a continuous 74 minute mix, play it loud & enjoy".

To my knowledge, this mix CD is a rare recording of Trevor Reilly playing Hardcore. DJ Trevor's 1996 Australian tour was based on him being involved in three tracks that were popular here in Australia and Around The World, pun fully intended. The Future with Dyewitness and The Nightraver, Around The World with The Nightraver again and the Casio Brothers' classy track, Last Anthem, co-written by now famous DJ, Mark Sherry. The mix itself is surprisingly good! DJ Trevor plays a really nice selection of Happy Hardcore, a number of the tracks I've never heard anywhere else. It doesn't get too cheesy, unfortunately Toytown does make an appearance. What makes this mix interesting is the last 10 minutes, where Mr. Reilly seamlessly starts playing Hard Trance. Well the last two tracks are Commander Tom's glorious Are Am Eye and Hole In One - Life's Too Short. Generally speaking, the mixing is very good. Overall this is a quality mix by Trevor Reilly. One year later, DJ Trevor would leave the Hardcore scene and move onto other genres. The cover claims this CD is 74 minutes long, that's false advertising, it's only 60 minutes long. Also the "artwork" looks like a fucking dog's breakfast, there are words on the back of this CD that I still can't read. Don't let the "artwork" or the ridiculously low Discogs rating fool you, if you like Happy Hardcore, you'll enjoy this mix CD.

I've heard quite a lot of Trevor Reilly Hardcore sets from the mid-90's and I like his style. In almost all of them he either starts with the Hard Trance or finishes with it - which is quite good as no-one else was really doing that in Scotland. Only complaint is he liked the odd cheeser but a good DJ.
