Arkest blaze is a good cut, but you will find a slightly refind version on the later Musicman release. The track here in question is the B-side. "For 12 minutes she danced with an alien" is quite a find, it's just got one of those repetitive grooves to die for, never tire of it, love it - Enjoy.

Arkest's Blaze is "alright"? Dunno, every single time I've ever played this track people jump on the dance floor. Deceptively simple big tech house, with that deft Dutch touch. Sounds good with anything, will liven up a flagging set. The keys of this track are the stretched out hand clap that kind of whooshes in, the hypnotic loop and the length of the track that puts you in a zone. The "Alien" track is fantastic as well, and both have the ability to fill huge rooms with sound. A classic!

... you know, i finally started listening to the flip a few years later after that comment. pretty bold of me to dismiss it like that! i think i just got stuck in "deeeep" house mode and never really got into the bigger room sound of Arkest's Blaze, but now I think I've gotten my head around it. anyway, Alien was refreshed for me again from Francois K dropping the Joris Vorn mix last night in DC.. big ups GERD. you've created some grooves that are still being caned 15 years later, which translates to eons in EDM world.

Arkest's Blaze is alright, but flip this 12" over to the flip to hear "For 12 Minutes She Danced With an Alien." What a cut. Gerd lifts the groove from Robert Aaron's Sax in the Ozone (EB 020), fills out the atmosphere a bit, and turns this into one of those tunes that you wish could go on forever. This has been in rotation with me since '95 and still love it to death.
