Off center pressing with lots of noise and generally just not very good sounding in general.Oddest thing about it is every single side's run in groove doesnt work, the stylus just slips violently into the start of the tracks, sometimes skipping if it goes too fast! I have never seen that on any record before! It's a real shame as I really love this album, but this level of quality control seems to be prevelant in a lot of new vinyl.

Can anyone help me in explaining who I can contact if I think I have a bad pressing? I had a doubt because coma ecliptic sounded horrendous. However everyone seems to be pleased here with this copy. So I purchased the lp land the it's a complete shit show boys. The cymbals are mixed way too high so they cut through everything with an immense amount of static. The vocals tend to do the same when it's loud. The odd part is the quieter parts ("I'm floating towards the sun") sound amazing. Any help is appreciated thank you

I have no issues with this recording, it was pretty silent and the quality was great. Album itself is worth a listen and is a BTBM classic.

My copy of this very well might be the best sounding album in my collection. Extraordinary pressing.

The quality of this pressing seems to be a hit or miss. Side D (Viridian and White Walls) has horrible hissing and popping with a couple visible divots. The record itself is flat but while looking down directly my headshell bobs severely side to side. Very upsetting for me as side D would be my most desired side to listen to. Side A exhibits similar bobbing tracking movement but not as bad. The other two sides track without this behavior at all, near perfectly though. I'll rely on my 140gram pressing if I want to listen to this LP in the future.

tangerinegripz Seems like you have a case of Side A and Side D being pressed off-center. You'll have to make the spindle hole bigger and center it yourself if you want to listen to it without bobbing tracking or wow and flutter. Thanks for the tip, I would not have thought to do that. I ended up returning this copy to my local record store and got it replaced. Sad to say, the new copy exhibits the same flaws! I do seriously think that there are quality control issues with this pressing.

How does this sound? I'm thinking about dropping the funds on it this weekend since it just showed up at the record shop I frequent.

Tholmeena
Trust me, it sounds incredible compared to the old victory pressings. I have 2 different presses from Victory and this repress/remaster blows those out of the water.

Funky
Sounds great. I don't have an old Victory pressing on vinyl to compare, so I am only comparing this to digital - However, it is a very dynamic and clean pressing. I'm very happy with it.

Is there a tour variant of this? I see that this standard black is available at online retailers. Is the one they are selling on tour any different?

Saimath
So i'm super late here, but the version I got on tour is exactly the same as the copy in record stores and online. Just standard black.

Terr
Just picked it up at a show two days ago, sadly it was exactly the same as the one I saw at a record store, and more expensive to boot.

A lot of Blood Music vinyl is 180 gram and colored. The SGM album trilogy reissues (metallic cream mix lp variants) were all 180 gram.https://www.discogs.com/Sleepytime-Gorilla-Museum-In-Glorious-Times/release/9530080https://www.discogs.com/Sleepytime-Gorilla-Museum-Of-Natural-History/release/9530039https://www.discogs.com/Sleepytime-Gorilla-Museum-Grand-Opening-And-Closing/release/9476695

rllr Here's an example of 180g colored vinyl. That said, this repress is ONLY on BLACK. No special variants have been made.https://www.discogs.com/Flume-Skin/release/8557518

Gavikelv
I asked the merch person and they said no and also indicated that most if not all 180g pressings are on black vinyl which I was about to refute until I couldn't come up with a single counter example in my collection.

PanshyR
Didn't appear to be. I was gonna get it @ the Philly show last night, which was AWESOME, but decided to get something else & the album online. It's exactly the same as the one pictured.
