This should not be lsted in compilations. This series (Diary 1 and 2) comprises live recordings made at the time the band was current, and most certainly had never been released before.;

John Mayall is the mortal father of British blues. Mayall (1933) was one of the first whites that would focus on the blues and he kept the genre all his life faithfully. Mayall played a key role, because by his mission work came a generation of young British musicians in touch with the blues. This generation changed the poplandschap for good. Mayall also had a good nose for talent. Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce (Cream), Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie (Fleetwood Mac) and Walter Trout learned the box in his backing band The Blues owls. John Mayall acts still on.
