I wish listers would state facts or if they don't know don't say!1, The record is a custom in-house pressing for and by Telstar for registered purchasers trade or private. Telstar would send a monthly list of new titles that would be available on 7" limited edition the records had to be pre-ordered and were custom pressed in an accoding amount.2. Telstar had bought an EMI custom in-house IEP (integral embossed and painted) high speed press when EMI stopped in-house vinyl and leased out the remaining presses to Orlake now trading as Portal Space (PS) two 12" vinyl and 1 7" vinyl presses at EMI's factory Blyth Road Hayes (EMI would eventually switch to Sony/CBS Artone in Holland for 12" items and optimal Germany for 7" items)3. The 7" pressed by Telstar are simply cost effective unpaited IEPs which is why most of the script embossed area is black as the vinyl is coloured black......carbon black (virgin vinyl pellets are clear). Had the paint, rollers and drying process been tripped and a vat of vile paint usually silver been filled then the (reversed father plate stamper) mother plate embossed areas would remain black vinyl and the raised areas over roller painted in silver paint. The records were normally shipped in white paper or card un die-cut sleeves..ie no die-cut 3" holes to view the labels.All we need to know re this pressing are three important things (esp to Stones fans)1. Is Brown Sugar the original 1971 recording leased to Atlantic/WEA2. If so.......is it the stereo mix (script on labels etc count for nothing it has to be heard)3. Is Start Me Up the same Stereo leased to EMI recording?quite simple reallyNoteFor some daft odd crazy stupid foolish and needless reason the 1971 Brown Sugar single world wide was presented in MONO why? and kept being pressed along the way by other RS records licencess world wide in MONO why?(oh we keep forgetting to ask for the Sticky Fingers album tapes not the single mix tapes of the BS track ho ho silly us!)
