On this initial release on Radical Nature Records, after dropping a couple of 12's under various monikers on the Southern Outpost imprint, Australian producer Sophie Loizou ventures far beyond beaten paths and worn out concepts and creates a thoroughly blissful, delicate stroll into the subharmonics of piano keys, broken up beats, hazy sax notes and a distorted, melancholic and enchanting vocals, that for those 4 precious minutes seem to have everything on hold, drawing all your focus and anntention.Sofie's partner in crime, Brock, doesn't abandon the original concept but uses different thesis and structure to achieve it, as he fuses a sturdy yet still fairly scattered beat with sinusoid shaped murky chords that pull you back and forth, with only shreds and snippets of vocals showing some glimpses of daylight. This is fairly reminiscent of his earlier productions of Styrax and Millions of Moments imprint.A clever little 10' no doubt.
