This is one of my fav records having not been collecting for long, that was 20 years ago I picked this record up mainy as liked the carnival cover art, at that time I used to buy music on what it's cover was like. I have always been blown away by this record it's just the right mix of sunny pych Rock with a heavy mix of jazz for me what makes UK progressive music. I true gem and for me one that crosses the music gen.

If You Want to Hear the ColoursGalliard is a lively and spirited dance popular in the époque of flowery baroque music and indeed Strange Pleasure sounds incredibly baroque only it belongs to the epoch of flowery psychedelic rock. I would even say it is the most baroque album of that legendary era and even if Galliard diluted baroque with a bit of jazz didn’t spoil the picture – the jazz overtones just made colours more bright and sound became more exotic and saturated. “We are the children of the sun we don’t belong to anyone we spend the time just wandering round” and the tunes are really full of some inner freedom. There is a song “A Modern Day Fairy Tale” and the whole album sounds like it. Truly the pleasure was strange but it was all mine.
