I just really wish that people would be able to get the REAL DEAL on what happened with Direct Current. Let me first say that this was a group of three women, Deborah (my mom), Dorothy & Denise Clement. Deals went wrong, and at the end of the day, they weren't really recognized for the work that they've done. To this day, their records continue to be sold; however, they aren't being recognized for it and it's really heartbreaking. Heartbreaking to see that they put in so much work to have it all taken away due to some losers that they've worked with in the past. They sang background with Patti Labelle, which no one really knows about, and it's a little said that even Mrs. Patti herself haven't given them any recognition. The music industry is sad! Anywho....I could go on forever. Who ever wants to hear the real story hit me up and I can patch you to my mother! We trying to get the word out though because what they did to them is just WRONG! Signing off Gloria

I'd love to know more about this. I am researching this record and one of the first rap records that was the B side of this record. Lady B's To the Beat Y'all. Would love to speak to your mother. I am a scholar of women and hip-hop music (which includes music like your moms). Wrote a book called The Games Black Girls Play: Learning the Ropes from Double Dutch to Hip-hop. kyraocity at gmail

I really appreciate this tune. I still play it at my disco parties and i like it. Just look at the people who search for it! more then a hundreds. so like the person before me reply. i think this is a true rare disco tune and it is special! be a little happy about that. and tell your mom, in the Disco scene i guess this one is much more high rated from all top Disco DJs today then the boring lady marmalade, etc... peace!

I'm very sorry to hear that your mom and the other ladies don't get the credit for this song that they deserve. My partner found this at a second hand vinyl store and it's amazing. Please know that there are other record geeks like us out here that totally appreciate the work that went into this song regardless of the schmucks that got in the way.
