An LP that gets short shrift from both garage gouls, who crave their earlier pure '66 garage sound, and psych seers who see it as a late attempt to psych out and get heavy. This is pure proto-punk to my ears, full of bad attitude, fuzzzzz guitars, chunky pop hooks, lazy stoned sneers and a lack of fixation with technique and musicianship which was pretty rare for 1969 when everyone was wanting to 'jam' for the rest of eternity and show off their fancy licks. File next to Stooges 1st, but without the avant pretentions and with tighter drumming.
