What the Italian soubrette Raffaella Carrà made here is basically an amusing alternative version of "Reggae Shhh", originally issued by the Zorro five band, with the excuse of a funny instructional dancing divertissement, with female vocals/scats on top, a killer too if you ask me, works like dynamite on the dancefloor! You can also watch Berto Pisano conducting the orchestra on the related youtube video, taken from a recording from a RAI Italian TV show. The supposedly UK outfit Zorro five were actually a South African band. The two tracks Reggae Shhh and Reggae meadowlands were featured on a very rare and obscure South African record, issued on the South African Brigadiers label, that was later taken over in South Africa by EMI and referred to in the late 70s as "EMI-Brigadiers". There is no way that this is an all-white English group or Italian group, it's South African and that Lp must be considered as one of the rarest records on the planet!! The probability is that there were some black members inside that group and this is why there is no photo or info about the group...no need to say that such things (mixing of race groups, etc.) were clearly not encouraged in apartheid ruled South Africa during the 1960s.
