No idea if this was sloppy and lack of attention at mastering stage (ie the tapes ordered were for the 7" Single and not the Album) but this needlessly and on a 12" with plenty of audio space and groove spiral is the cut for USA Radio 2.56 edit and not the full album version with that lovely extra repeat intro (we are talking seconds here not 5 minutes!) just makes no sence and again made EMI live up to it's initals....................Every Mistake Imagiable.Quite clearly the compiler did not do their homework or know the track Dr Hook or the original album. sloppy and poor and needless.For the full un butchered recording of ALBM seek out the LP :of the same name from which this was culled.Other 'wonderful' butchered for USA Radio maximum commercial money earning time include:-The McCoys " Hang On Sloop"y (a whole verse is circumcised that red dress gone for ever)Barry White/Love Unlimited Orchestra " Love's Theme" (guitar solo chopped out)Johnny Bristol "Hang On In There Baby" (piano bridge chopped out)Why record companies ever did this and bowed down to USA radio demands is quite obscene and reeks of dictatorship, "if it goes over 3 mins we won't play it yes we know even at 49 -to-55 rpm sorry it's all about the P! "This 12" a sad and shameful waste of vinyl and time should never have happened.

Sorry forgot to point out the full original recorded version is 3:15 yes I know, we are talking the grand sum of 19 seconds!Which clearly puts this needless cull into full perspective of it's stupidity.
