Nigel's smooth layering of beats and ability to cross genres is evident in this mix CD. Starting off with Aphrohead's "Kazoo," a super-charged electro stomper that immediately grabs your attention, he comes full circle to the end track, "Beat Connection" which also storms away. This mix always left me wanting to start from the beginning once the last track played. Once again, Nigel shows up as both a talented DJ and producer, interweaving several of his own songs into the mix. The tracks are appropriately played, some played out fully to appreciate their entirety, while others used as short bridges to the next. This mix appeals more to the masses than previous mixtape releases (which I personally prefer because of the hard techno, tribal beats, and the older more robotic electro). However, I was quite addicted to this CD when it came out because it was different, and captured more of the techno-wave/house/electro sound that Nigel was evolving towards in 2002.
