Very thoughtful words by Flottpale. Initially we can all agree that N.A.M. were ahead of their time on the actual time of the release. This well hidden masterpiece figures perfectly and it's still considered one of the true cornerstones of the exprimental metal genre. Ubbe himself might never got the full recognition and cred for his hard working effort. Therefore here on Discogs: We salute you!

Rumors on the eastern front says that this album will be pressed on vinyl anytime soon. We can only pray to Satan Almighty and wait for the unlikely to happen

Upon reflection, New Age Messiah can be viewed as a doom band's ambitious endeavor in embracing the concept of progressive music, rather than being simply 'influenced' by it. Now, that isn't to say that N.A.M. have forgone their low-tuned, magnified guitar riffs, but instead have renovated their style into constructing an equilibrium of heaviness and innovation. Prior to the release of Urban Jesus professed an admiration for the Swedish progressive rock groups that flourished in the early 1970s, and even want as far as to claim that their music served as major inspiration to the album's sound. Though the music of N.A.M. is anything but synonymous with the symphonic marvel in the progressive rock scene in Sweden began when musicians embraced the foreign sound of British groups like Genesis and King Crimson, and fused it with the music of their own culture to compose a unique vision for the genre. In other words, it's the yearning to explore and understand what is unfamiliar that inspired Ubbe Rydeslätt, rather than the actual sounds of that particular movement.

This is probably the best review I have ever read.Innovative in it´s language and metaphores yet still easy to grasp in it´s context.Also very true and powerful in it´s purest form, I can feel Ubbes yearning and will to explore during the making of this album when I read this review.....almost as much as when I listen to the music itself.
