"I Enjoy Being A Boy" is the most perfectly realized popsyke tune ever written or heard, and it’s not even British. Even so, this bubblicious Joey Levine-Marc Bellack composition has it all: the playful, sugar-induced hallucinatory imagery nasally drawn-out to the strains of an insistent guitar plink, the disembodied harmonies underlining the marked contentment of the subject in love, the riffing assertiveness of the post-choral progression, and even a Bee Gees reference (“I live in a cucumber castle”). Fleagle, Bingo, Drooper, Snorky, you have blown my mind to little bits!
