ECLAT - ECLAT II (FGBG 4064.AR) CD 41mI'd never heard of Eclat before, and whether they are a new band, or if this is their first after a long silence I've no idea. However, Eclat do feel like an experienced band, opting for French poetic vocals in the tradition of bands like Mona Lisa or Ange, and trying their hand most competently at a wide range of styles from flowing rock through to more furiously charged and more mainstream styles. Although one can pick out elements of Genesis and other Anglo-American 70's bands, Eclat are distinctly French, even on the instrumentals. I do have some reservations about the production style on some tracks, however Eclat do have talent and dare to be inventive.From my Musea reviews feature in Audion magazine #24 (Feb. 1993)
