Juju play hypnotic ethno-psychedelic music that incorporates Eastern-infused rhythms and instruments, ritualistic New Orleans Voodoo fire-dance fervor, groove-driven gospel/funk hallucinations, electronic Afro-beat tribal dance, folky death-dirge marches, mesmerizing krautrock repetition, and heavy hip-sway funk with a dark shamanic core. It’s sort of like a mix of Goat (Their masked djembe player appears on the album), Dr. John, Lumerians, Nonn, War, Slab!, Timeless Tribe, Agitation Free, Guru Guru, Föllakzoid, Kraan. “Our Mother Was A Planet” will stir every primal groove instinct in your body and your dark soul.
