Paul Gardner and Wayne O’Connell plunder the vaults for a double-header that takes us back to the days when Starsky & Hutch ruled supercool and disco was being bastardised by Travolta and the Bee Gees. ‘Love Coming At Ya’ takes a giant bite outta Melba Moore’s Kashif-production of the same name while ‘Dancing In My Sleep’ pays homage to Paulette McWilliams (I think!) late-‘70’s shuffler. Both add contemporary house beats to the original sampled loops to enhance rather than dominate.
