Although very hard to read (due to being covered by the oversized centre labels), there is a catalogue number etched into the run-out grooves on this 12". Both versions of the record have the same A side track [CAT 001 Q]. They are very faint on my copies, but the version with the 3½ minute long B side track appears to have CAT 001 X in the run-out groove, the version with the different longer 5½ minute B side track looks like CAT 001 Z.

the only text in the runout groove on my copy is the "a world of music.." text, nothing else to indentify the record.

Over on the page for the other version of this release (the one with the 5:54 B side duration) it says that is the second release of this record, assuming it was originally released in 1991 as the copyright states. It also implies that this one is the first release, which may or may not be true. Most likely no version of this record ever saw the light of day before that 1995 release date and the 3:32 B side and 5:54 B side versions were both released at the same time.

I agree. On the discography section of the old XLTronic site the 1991's release was marked as "test pressing - no cover", and in fact there is no trace of information that this supposed first version has commercially released in 1991

Note that on the Mike Paradinas' 'Gary Moscheles' album the track 'Goodbye Jazz People' he credits Jake Slazenger and Bradley Strider. I can only assume then that they are both recording names for Mike Paradinas.

I'd have to disagree. I'd say what is more likely is that Rich helped out on Mike's track..using the Bradley alias.

I have the version of Bradley's Beat shown here. It states on the label that the 2nd side is Bradley's Beat part two running at 4:43 mins. In fact the track lasts for approximately 3:32 mins and is an entirely different track to the 1st side. I also have a promo version of this 12" with a faint heart shape on the label and the 2nd side is approximately 5:30 mins and is yet another entirely different track. Personlly, I think the two different b-sides are the better tracks on this release. As to whether bradley Strider is really Aphex Twin - well, Grant Wilson-Claridge of Rephlex stated in an interview that it was Richard's equipment used but not him on the record. Mike of U-ziq reckons it's definately him. Considering Rephlex's deliberate mystery surrounding their acts and Mike's close friendship with Richard, I know who I beleive. Also, I have been reliably informed that the image used on the two releases is a guy called Manuel Sepulveda who is not known to have released anything else, and who is only credited for artwork on an Aphex release. This combined with the fact that Richard has DJ'd in the Netherlands as DJ Brad Strider suggests that he is one and the same. Finally, most of the tracks sound like him anyway.

There are actually two versions of "Bradley's Beat". On each, the first side is the same (clocking in at 6:06), but the second side has a different song clocking in at different times with each version. No official distinction has been made between the two, but the difference remains.
