I bought the original in 89 when we were organising illegal raves and house parties. Elektronik Automatik was the popular rave mix, darkside and fast beats was always the most popular in any alternative mix. You people are tame and probably too young to know. Do one.

The Elektro - Genetik mix has, at least in my circles, always been considered 100% propah. And rightly so. Minimal. Beats and bass. Oh, that bassline. Did I mention the bassline? Yes, the bassline.

Simply the best version of this forgotten amazing EP. That's the only version (correct me If I'm wrong) where you can find the "Electro-Genetik Version", this track clearly stands out for me ! Don't miss it, killer one !

Perhaps one of the forgotten classics of its era, at least if current Discogs prices are anything to go by. This one has a strange mix of synth leads and sounds - not quite sure whether it wants to be an acid house record, or whether it wants to be a techno track on Transmat, Warp or even an upcoming Belgian label. Side A's mixes are quite dark and deep, and have probably aged better than the mix on the flip side. It still manages to somehow sound a little futuristic, yet also easy to place in that 1989-1990 "from acid house to harder techno" transition period of European house/techno, where the music gradually became harder and more "ravey", moving quickly away from its Chicago House roots. Side B, with its stuttering vocal sample and 1980s synth leads has clearly not stood the test of time, yet other sounds on it were clearly way ahead of their time - one synth line in particular (you'll know which one I mean) is straight out of a mid-90s goa trance record, therefore pre-dating those tunes by at least 5-6 years. It's still a great track, but clearly from a long-gone era.Big on the pirates, and played at a few clubs/raves that I went to at the time, yet it's never really been talked about that much over the years. I was never really sure why. The same goes for the Man Machine Featuring Zen 12" as well - another favourite of mine from the same era, which also comes highly recommended if you like the sounds on this record (and is also still available at a ridiculously low price).
