"The sound documents published here were recorded during the dictatorship of the colonels in Greece, following the military coup of April 21, 1967. They are at once music and lived resistance. They are a scream, desperation, hope. Recorded on a simple tape recorder under circumstances of illegality, house arrest, banishment. A testimony to circumstances in which life, death and dignity were at stake."
