Here’s an underrated Australian album for my money. Although the last of the albums cut by Australia’s premier big band, it delivers some seriously good tunes. The break at the start of ‘Star Wars’ is what first drew my attention to this album, but having overlooked it myself, I noticed John Idem mention that it had a killer cover of ‘Car Wash’, and upon a quick re-listening, I realised it did. A German collector that I played it to agreed and promptly offered me a nice trade for it a few years back. This has got to be the best Daly Wilson Big Band cover art too, perhaps with the exception of the huge naked band photo that graces the inside of the gatefold cover on their Best Of 2LP (aussiefunk.blogspot.com).
