Dirty Harry once said; "...opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one".I think some can be rather harsh when reviewing an release especially when it relates to classic re-released material. I personally don't care if you've got all the original 12's, that has no relevence to the release at all! This compilation will be several things to many people, some good some bad. We also need to remember that this will have appeal to the youth of today, it's not just about satisfying the demands of those who were there back in the early 80's.Packaging is great and remastered sound quality is pretty good considering there is so much poor quality re-mastered releases flooding the market today. If you are a completist then it's a no-brainer you will want this. Others will just have to choose whether they want to risk buying it based upon others negative opinions or whether they just do as I do,...blast the (CD) music from my car remembering the friction burns on my back, elbows and knees from all that other type of spinning on vinyl lol

Well I finally got round to dropping my vinyl copy last night and omg what a disappointment!! The original version's of the tracks that feature are great for being remastered etc but the remixes are that bad! My favorite Egyptian Lover tune has been ruined! I just took the needle of the record after a minute, awful remix! Then the Divine Sounds remix is just as bad what a complete hash of a job!, the dmx will rock was a slight improvement but no it's ruined also and finally surgery was the best of all of them but why why why even bother messing with these tracks as all of those remixes have been done by the same person it is obvious they love there serato which all of us vinyl junkies hate!! I wonder if the artists actually heard the remixes of their tracks as surely they would not have allowed these remixes to go ahead as the tracks have been hashed or was the licence money more important to them?? I know Morgan wanted to make this release a unique purchase to give us electro heads something to buy but I would of preferred the original cuts of the tracks instead of classics being tampered with by a serato head! This is a missed opportunity to grow this brand in my opinion. If your after a good electro example of how to do edits on classics just check out Greg Wilson's Electro Edits release for record store day 2013, Greg puts the above to shame by doing a fine job with 4 classic tracks.

Track selection of the compilation is very weak with tunes that have been hammered to death it lacks research and knowledge of a genre that has been around for decades now,and there are many records out there that never made it to the original 'Electro' series back in the day which would of been more welcoming (minus the house deejay style re-edits)..... 'MCI-Commandments' and 'Diamond 2 Crew-Prophecy (Breaker's Theme)' being just two examples of those.Buy for the sleeve art to use as a picture in your living room and you won't be disappointed but that's it. Any real beat junkie in the know will already have all these tunes on original 12" vinyl in pristine condition even some as doubles purchased many moons ago. So unless you need new frisbees for your dog then save your cash as there is nothing 'Ground Breaking' ,'Essential' or even 'Crucial' on offer here. Sleeve Art = 4.5/5 -- Vinyl = 0.3/5

A Great collection of Classics remastered and repackaged the street sounds way , The label that started it all finally gets back to what it does best ELECTRO specially mixed and full length versions. and on VINLY a must for the collector and worth it just for the outstanding artwork.only bad point been IMO the version of WCWC / Surgery ... Not sure who or what Fresh 2 is but surgery is a track that can never be bettered so best left alone. Also available for the Digital Junkies in CD form containing a Mixed CD but sadly the mix is a bit of an Anti Climax for me anyway ... Enjoy ORIGINAL Electro Fans
