Does anyone else have problem with the first song of both the A and B side being really bad quality? Many pops and skips on the first song only, then it's good. It's both on this re-issue and the Perfect Symmetry.

All the other things should be in correct order and condition. Every other new vinyl I put on does not have any problems with the sound what so ever.

A1 and B1 are fine over here. Could be a worn stylus? Maybe check your tracking and anti-skating are set up with the right weight?

I think the sound is not that bad, minimal surface noise, dynamic and clear, maybe it can be louder a bit.

One of the most beautiful album covers of the modern era, and they have reduced it to a single LP with half of the original artwork missing. Disappointing. Glad to have the original 2LP edition in my collection

I just bought it and it doesn't come with the booklet like the initial pressing. It's one disc. The sleeve is the fish bomb design like the first pressing. Grateful to have it on vinyl finally but hoped for more of the beautiful artwork by Sanna Annukka.

I don't think there's ever been a folding booklet? I bought my 2LP on day of release in 2006 and it was a gatefold with two inners and a fan club postcard but no other inserts...

Thanks for the info! I was on the verge of buying it, but I hoped it would include the folding booklet with the beautiful Iron Sea illustration in large format. What a bummer!

Can't say I agree with this - no, it's not a loud pressing, but turn it up and it sounds clear, full and dynamic, with (to my ears) a touch more detail than the original 2LP. The background is pretty silent, so it can easily withstand being played at a higher volume. It's also nice not to have to change the record every three songs like I did with the original edition - the album hangs together much better this way I think. I'm very happy to have switched the 2006 cut for this one.
