The Healing Power of Trance DancingWhen we see people trance dancing, it is easy to see its healing power. The freedom of expression, the soul that radiates in the dancer's face, the permission to be totally yourself and pour your Being into space, connecting you deeply with everyone and everything.Dancing is one of the greatest pleasures of life, a true gift when done naturally, absent of the need to control and guide movement. When we dance beyond any expected form or style, we spontaneously create the dance by exploring and releasing our natural flow of feelings. When this spontaneous creation of dance is encouraged in a safe place, new movements emerge opening us to our far memory of times when we danced before. We move into trance and no longer are concerned with what people will think.Spirit visits the dancer embodying them by their invitation. When this occurs, the dancer disappears and becomes the dance, which can be primitive, tribal, magical and sometimes it's like a group orgasm.Spirit enters the dancer and creates a collective energy which moves everyone beyond their limits until they abandon themselves. Their bodies warm and vibrate as the music dissolves their separateness in exchange for a primal connection not realised in daily life.Disease and disenchantment are results of being dis-spirited. All our illness can be healed by calling spirit home to our bodies. Our souls have wandered away for many reasons leaving us unprotected.Trance Dancing invites spirit to return home, for all healing must start by reuniting with spirit and eliminating that distance which has occured between us.Once spiritually healed, spirit becomes the dancer dissolving and releasing our negative thoughts creating space for our far memory to reveal images and experiences of our immortality. As our thoughts transform, negative emotions are broken down by our breath and movement. We release sounds of joy, passion, sorrow, anger and fatigue until all emotion is cleansed and is experienced as one emotion, that of ecstasy. Then finally the body spontaneously in movement releases control and allows spirit to heal the dancer.By Trance Dancing, we actually have moved our consciousness into spontaneous healing spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically.Trance Dancing will cause you to be true to your inner movement. It will leave you healed and satisfied, so dance your tears and joy, and allow our breath and heartbeats to connect us all. - excerpt from the booklet
