Uakti lived by the Negro River. His body, opened in holes, received the wind and produced an irradiating sound that attracted all of the women of the tribe. The jealous indians chased and killed Uakti. They buried his body in the forest. High palm trees grew there. Their trunks were used by the indians to make musical instruments which sounded smooth and melancholic, such as the sound of the wind on Uakti's body. ... When this sound is heard, the women will be impure and will be tempted.
