Project (RIP) became one of our favorite Russian electro projects. The DJ-duo Sergey L. (DJ Negative) - Dmitry Fomin (DJ Fomin) ravished our crew since the very beginning. The main characteristic of RIP is their unique sound moving in between electro-underground and pure techno-trance.This new EP features 12 songs, mainly consisting of remixes. We get 3 new songs plus 9 remixes. Let’s start with the new stuff. The title song is a pumping electro-technoid piece. There’s a mix between typical dark-electro rhythms and trance-minded arrangements joined by some funny and totally unexpected snoring samplings. After the break featuring the snoring you’ll notice a quite Noisuf-X sounding icy-technoid lead and German speaking samplings. “Metal Balls” reveals similar influences yet this song sounds harder and a bit darker as well. RIP excels in merging dark-electronics and trance influences together. This is a great piece of music that will please all progressive electro heads. But the best track definitely is the last one. “Moskau Leipzig” is a pure dancefloor smasher. The body-trance style once more reminds to Noisuf-X, which remains the ultimate reference in the genre.Over now to the remixes featuring several outstanding pieces and a few great names as well. The master himself aka Noisuf-X remixed the title song into a harder version. You here will recognize the typical sound trademark of Jan L. Another master in the genre is Sebastian Komor (Komor Kommando) who made an outstanding hard and merciless remix of “Moskau Leipzig”.Other interesting names are Amduscia, Static Sky and Cynical Existence. Amduscia accentuated the dark-electro side on the “Moskau Leipzig”-remix. Detuned Destruction made a cool remix of the same song as well. I also have to mention the icy remix of “Schnarch Suite” by Mono Dual.Conclusion: Three great new songs and different outstanding remixes make this EP essential.
