This album, despite the late release date, was obviously recorded earlier in their career. This double album contains a reissue of their very first recording from 1972, variously entitled 'Ice' and 'Each Man Makes His Destiny' on one disc, and a collection of new originals on the other. After the debut album using the name Ice, they switched their name to The Lafayette Afro Rock Band and became primarily an instrumental band. The original recordings on the first disc have the style and feel of the 2 albums they recorded as Lafayette. Perhaps the 'new material' disc of this double album is made up of outtakes from the sessions of those (their 2nd and 3rd albums) yet these are very solid compositions that do not sound like throwaways. Get this album if you can find it.
