Not a review, necessarily, although this is a fantastic mix of perfect songs from the early to mid 80s. Rather, I'm curious if others have experienced a severe issue with this cassette like I have: I have this and one other similar cassette purchased around the same time in the mid 80s that, after about 10-15 minutes of playing, begins to squeal - but thru the speakers! I've played this tape in so very many cars and home stereos over the years and finally pulled it out of a box after sitting for almost 20 years, put it into a newly refurbished cassette deck - having forgot about the squealing issue - and by the 3rd song I start hearing a bit of a squeal coming from the speakers. I check my cabling - all good - and the squeal slowly intensifies. Then I remember that this tape ALWAYS did this. It's not the tracks on the tape, either - if I take the tape out when it's squealing and put it into another deck and hit play to resume the song that was playing, there's no squealing at all. Clean sound, for about 10-15 mins of this tape passing across the head then it resumes on this deck. The affected decks will instantly squeal with this tape inserted unless about another 20-50 or so tapes have been played since then, and only then will it play for a good 10-15 minutes. Cleaning the head does nothing - neither with head cleaning cartridges nor manual disassembly and cleaning. I'm fifty years old and have so very many cassettes. I've never seen this issue happen aside from this and one other tape which I think is from the same mfr. Anyone else see this issue? EDIT: I found the other offending tape I have from Priority - it's called Charts on Fire, Priority 4XL 9366, and it does the exact same thing regardless of what deck it's ever played in.
