Why at "Is Vic there" the acid starts properly building up at last minute? ruins it for me, Machine doesn't have much acid progression as well

I love this so much, the first Smitten record I ever bought found in Croydon's Wax City. Machine literally sounds like a machine and Is Vic there builds and builds in classic Smitten acid style.
