After almost five years without playing any live performances, Kraftwerk return to the stages for a world wide tour to promote the album Computer World, their newest work back then which set again new standards of electronic music. Due to these reasons, the year of 1981 was undoubtelly the highest point of Kraftwerk history. Even the audience of countries like Poland and Hungary - under socialist regime - had the opportunity to enjoy that sound ahead of its time. The recording featured on the double vinyl bootleg "Central Passage" comes from the very first concert of this historic tour, which firstly began going through several Italian cities. Although this performance isn't that good if compared to later recordings, it has some particularities such as the track "It's More Fun To Compute" played exactly like its studio version and not in a funky and remixed way like in most of concerts. Besides, the track "The Robots" finishes the set instead and "Pocket Calculator" is partially sung in Italian.
