Since its release, I've been curious if the dynamic range and pacing of this album on double vinyl might be an improvement over the heavily limited digital releases. I'm disappointed to discover, the difference is nominal. While the tone and staging offer a slight improvement, the dynamic range is nearly as limited. Part of this is attributable to the type of music and the mixing itself. The production approach on this album strikes me as a bit overkill. I also hate to say I'm disappointed to see the bonus tracks included on the vinyl release, as they're arguably two of the strongest songs on the album but honestly, for a double LP, I would've been happy to have the original 20 track album, if for no other reason than to see a bit more breathing room. Each side is cut within less than an inch of the label and due to packing in the extra songs, the balance of the tracks over each side feels skewed. Overall, I'm disappointed with this release.
