This is my favourite album ever. I think I've said enough so, lets start this review."Where Did We Go Wrong". This is the most famous song from the album so I won't spend too much time talking about it. It's a great song and a great opening to the record. It's about how the band has had so much trouble in music market while trying to become popular."When I Leave You" is a breakup song that should be iconic, but sadly, it isn't. None of the songs except the first one are. But "When I Leave You"? This song should win AWARDS! It's a well written, well performed song that captures a breakup perfectly."Down In It" is a dark, mysterious song with heart pounding drums and head banging guitar! Personally, I think it's about questining whether to give up or not. To give up on what, I don't know. Still a great song though!"Drown" and "Down In It" where seemingly recorded right after one another, as the outro to "Down In It" trails into "Drown". "Drown" is a love song about a man wanting his life to be all about his spouse. Or at least, that's what I THINK the song is trying to be. It is clear it's a love song that rocks like no one is listening though!"This Life". I had low expectations for this song because I only listened to the intro, which is underwhelming. However, the rest of the song is actually really good! It's about someone who hates there life and is counting all the things he or she has done wrong."TV Killed Me" is way to basic compared to the rest of the CD. While not terrible it's definitely the worst song on the album."Beautiful" is... wait for it... beautiful! This song and the next are some of the best songs on "Burn Out The Stars"! It's about a girl's boyfriend defending her from people (supposedly the group of friends) who discriminate her and don't pay any attention to her. This is an upbeat, cool rock song that your sure to like!"Seconds, Minutes, Hours". I think this song is about reflecting on your life and thinking how, quote: "things just didn't work out like we planned." Amazing, hip, fun song."My Heaven" is another love song, or so I thought. It is ACTUALLY about how drugs affect the mind and hiw the person in the song regrets getting addicted. And yeah, it's a bit of a love song to. The first time I bought this album I skipped this one because, like "This Life", the intro didn't show any promise. Never judge a book by it's cover kids! The song is way better than "TV Killed Me", but not QUITE as good as "Beautiful", "Seconds, Minutes, Hours", or "When I Leave You".And finally: "Bradbury Heights". I don't know what this one is about, but it is beautiful. A perfect end to and astonishing album. So that was "Burn Out The Stars"! The debut album by Magna-Fi! Definitely worth your money! If you can't get enough of The Szuters (Magna-Fi), go see my review on Magna-Fi's last album to date: Versecoruskillme! (Don't worry! The Szuters are supposed to strike back next year! :))
