...come on!!! A library record about speleology (cave research)??? You must be kidding! How bizarre can it get? Another evidence for the endless diversity and ideas of stock music. Despite the fact, this is from a time period that most collectors avoid, the record is absolutely brilliant and shines like a diamond. Since it is from 1989, this must be one of the very last library records being pressed on vinyl as most companies have moved to CD's already.I dare to say that besides Boneschi and Bonfanti, most of the composers on this record are lesser known, but collectively they have created a great sounding and rounded up concept. My feeling is, that the sceneries, this record was probably made for, are underwater caves. Song titles like Plancton (Plancton), Oltre La Barriera (Beyond The Reef), Grotte Azzurre (Blue Cave), Profondità (Sea Depth), Meduse (Jellyfish) give you an idea what this is all about. If this didn't have the title cave research I would say it is straight underwater music. The music is obviously made with electronic instruments (synths, drum machines,...) and is very relaxed and ambient in most parts. For me one of those abstract records you can actually listen to without having beads of sweat on the forehead, if you know what i'm trying to say. Really a big surprise and recommended to anyone who is into experimental stuff, underwater music and early synth. There's only a handful of Commenti Musicali releases (including this one) that got a "digital" tag below the Fonit Cetra logo on the front cover. To be honest, I don't understand what this is about? This is analog heaven and probably the very last underwater library that ever made it on vinyl...
