Robert Carty / Sylken "The Endless Vista" CDr"The Endless Vista" is a collaboration of renowned US space ambient artist Robert Carty, based in Layton, Utah, and his Canadian fellow composer, Eric Hopper, known as Sylken and based in Toronto, Ontario. Robert Carty's huge discography includes over 50 albums, mostly released as CDr format on his own Deep Sky Music, while Sylken's discography counts 8 CDr albums and collaborations released mostly through his Sylken Music output. The album unfolds magnificently with gracefully floating ethereal title composition, "The Endless Vista", a really charming introduction perfectly corresponding with its title! "Deep Distance" keeps its grandiose feel, even if spiced with slightly more lively, almost eclectic structure, but still sounding quite euphoric and joyful. "Desire Of The Ages" returns to more tranquilized mood with serene and sad washes. "Of Space And Time" features again very elegant and idyllic space motifs enriched with few galactic rumbles and gurgles, this composition certainly seizes the grandeur and wonder of stratospheric soundscaping, a pure 14-minute atmospheric bliss! "Silent Splendours" continually floats through similar sky high realms with serenely beautiful and hauntingly cascading and arching images, celestial beauty at its most sublime! "The Shores Of Forever" are painted with grandiose drones and gentle melodies, another really fascinating late night spacey odyssey and highly efficient closer for this album. "The Endless Vista" is wonderfully poetic space music travel with power and heart capturing deep yearning for inner peace and tranquility.
