"I'll Lead You Home" is, in my opinion, tied for the pinnacle album of MWS career. There are so many strong tracks here and a great variety of sound. I remember reading an interview with Smitty - can't remember the publication - where he talked about making an effort to use primarily "real" instruments and I think it paid off in spades. The entire work has a warmth to it, each track encouraging and relatable. The title song is my favorite on the album and does a good job of bringing hope to the listener. The trilogy piece was a welcome surprise, as it shifts gears with each chapter, yet manages to stay connected. The ending of the trilogy, while not a "fourth" song, definitely takes on a life of its own, with his daughter stepping up to the mic and putting a great finish on a wonderful piece of music. This CD hit shelves in the Christian bookstores around the time of "Jesus Freak" and "Jars of Clay" and is one of the last great albums in that industry before the worship movement really took hold and fundamentally changed the landscape of Christian music. Highly, highly recommended.
