Oscar, designated head of famous labels like KarateKlub and Lørdag, delivers with Geisterbahn the forth EP on Mooose Records that comes directly from a Vinylstars artist. Two different but always danceable tracks that are orientated on actual developments in electronic music and combine new and outstanding parts with classic house and acid elements.Geisterbahn as the first track shows in a certain way that Filter House is still alive. Although drum and bassline are not limited that much, in combination with shakers and hats a unique atmosphere is created. Diffidently, but unstoppable a choir-like, nebulous melody evolves to the first attraction of this track, catches the listeners attention for a short while and is instantly replaced by another melody. And then Geisterbahn speeds up. One highlight is followed by the next, pushed forward by hats and a strong bassline and after a short period of relief, just like in a real ghost train, all elements have the honor to contribute to the final kick! Fair music was yesterday – here is Geisterbahn!!On the other hand Tanzparkett appears to be more interlaced and playful. Although the pumping bassline is very dominant during the whole track, Oscar constantly adds a lot of small pieces and elements like hats, kicks or shakers. Short bleeps or vocal parts lead to a variation of the track, the main melody evolves out of the vocals and is highlighted or replaced by different elements. To say it clear: There is a lot going on in this track. Nevertheless the bassline keeps the listener from drifting away, it frees space for the melody at the right time and starts to pump exactly then, when the listeners feet begin to dance. Hard to find just one suiting genre for Tanzparkett, especially since the melodies are bright and remembering on summer while as the bassline seems to come straight from Techno or Techhouse.
