If discogs had a genre in its database labeled "Typical-Sixties-Party-Sound" the album could serve as a representative example. Alongside a number of rather easy-listening jazz interpretations of a range of pop hits of the time "Wade In The Water", "Money In The Pocket", "Up Tight" and "Hold It Right There" remain swinging and appealing instrumentals. An album difficult to rate; 3/5 is too little, 4/5 maybe slightly too much. No doubt: a record that evokes its musical era indelibly.
