I just bought this on tape, I know its 23 years on now but side 2 of this tape is just amazing, Sasha is just amazing at mixing, Their is a little issue with the tape, it seems to have a issue with switching from one speaker to another on side 2 of the Sasha mix. I think this is the only one of the boxed sets I have not owned and it just amazing. If this ever comes up for sale this is a much purchase so good!!!

The Rollers of Vildar
For me, 1994 was the year sasha truly stood out from the crowd. There's no question that he'd already well proven himself by this point in time, although I have to admit i didn't have many earlier mixes back then. Most notably i did have the Conception mix from '92, which i still think is the earliest example of his supreme ability to make a set more than just a series of consecutive tunes. But back then i remember there being plenty other DJ's playing on my stereo. 1994 was different. To name a few highlights, there was his Essential Mix in January, the Shindig mix in May (a personal favourite), the Renaissance CD of course, and these Boxed mixes towards the end of the year. The consistency in tune quality and mixing just blew me away. He didn't just create sets where the tunes sounded good together:- they belonged together. It may not sound so impressive in this digital age where everything can be manipulated to fit, but back then you were stuck with whatever was molded into the groove. This set for me typifies what i loved about his style around this time. The train wreck mix at the end of Scope only highlights the fact that this is live and builds appreciation for the rest of the beautifully flowing mix. Starting with the fantastically mellow prog track Clanger, and ending in the roof-raising Bacchanal, this showcases the "journey" type mix sasha was famous for. People may view this set differently now with the full tracklist available in 10 different websites and mp3s of every known tune, but back then when i bought this it was 90 minutes of unknown bliss. Well, apart from BT anyway. And even that i feel i should defend. I've heard plenty criticism of the continuous BT tracks in his mixes, but back then when i was out clubbing i couldnt get enough of BT's music. Every track around that time was golden, and certainly sasha was playing them for months before they got a general release. I remember waiting weeks before i finally found out the name of Loving You More, and even more before i could buy it on vinyl. You have to put it in context. So yes i love this set, and the whole period around it. The only thing i have left to say is please please can someone identify that unknown track after Eternal Rhythm. I've loved it from the second i heard it and won't ever be able to rest until i can finally complete this tracklist. Cheers

to slo_moshun- hey! i have that mix too... but it's part of double cassette recording on 'pimp' records. dave seaman is on the other cassette, and it's quite a far out mix for him. it's sort of between his earlier house-ier sound and mid-ninities progressive, but it gets quite trippy toward the end. there's this weird tune with a bit of 'reservoir dogs' in it, going, "hey little doggy, are you going to bark, or are you gonna bite, " and then it mixes into a really spacey guitar track with a strange female vocal on it. in fact, if anyone has the tracklisting for that one i'd be very grateful!.. similar to other old digweed mixes i got back then, there' s some cracking tunes, but i'll never find out what they are! although, discogs and htfr is proving very useful.as for sasha, it seems all his mixes back then would always have at least 5 mixes of bt on it, and then the rest would be blue amazon!! i think the sparce 6 note bassline is Keoki'caterpillar', is it not? well, i think it is on mine..

I can confirm that I have this 'boxed' mix that I bought in 1995 and have the same Sasha cassette as Slo-Moshun. The cassette is branded with the mix box graphics. As yet I have not found out any of the other side 1 track listings :(

MEGA FREEDY
Toby... I'll have to check that out mate... I sent the Sasha mix I have to a GU forum and it blew up with the fanatics going bonkers! I listened to this mix morning, noon and erm... morning (as I went out sometimes). Classic Sasha mid nineties prog. I agree with the BT, Blue Amazon thing, this is sooooo true. But with Sasha it's the odd little atmospheric tunes (not the 4/4 bangers) that make you ratch.. Stay in touch friend.

I don't know how to put this but I have this mix which I bought form a record store in 1995 in the UK. Due to the quality of the Sasha mix I have tried online for several years to get a tracklisting on it. After years of research I have found that I have a totally different Sasha mix from everybody else! Which is this... 01. ??? (briefly) sparce 6 note bassline 02. ??? soft female spoken intro 03. Donna Allen - Real (Def House Mix) 04. Justine - Want Me Love Me (FOS Love Guitar Mix) 05. Head Rush - Underground (King Size Mix) 06. ??? "hu" male "now now now" female 07. Barbara Tucker - I Get Lifted (FOS) 08. BT - Trippin The Light Fantastic 09. Luvspunge - Didnt I Give You Love (Spiritual Records) 10. Sasha & BT - Heart Of Imagination 11. BT - Divinity 12. Blue Amazon - Four Seasons (Jackpot Records) 13. BT feat. Vincent Covello - Loving You More (Garden of Ima dub) (Perfecto) I've heard the other mix and quite frankly this one is far better! Any comments or complete tracklisting let me know, use the power of Discogs to help me out!!

The track is by Luvspunge - Didn't I Give You ♥ : Label = Spiritual Records : Catalog# TRIP 119 Format : Vinyl, 12" Country : Netherlands Released : 1995. The other version of the track is called Didn't I show U Dub, Sasha plays the two versions back to back in this mix, the dub first (Didn't I Show U Dub) and mixes in the vocal mix after it right at the end (practised and pre-empted mix by him). I actually bought it for the other track on it called Sexual Healing way back in '95 and found this by pure chance! Search You Tube for it, it's on! BTW - Track 3 of my above tracklisting is Donna Allen - Real (Def House Mix by David Morales) EPIC records 1994.

the track i really really want is the doo doo duddo doo doo, duddo doo doo, duddo doo doo, with the vocal 'give me luv, show me luv' over the top, but it's not the one off renaissance vol. 1- one cd i had said in the track listing that it was ' luv spunge ' ?... ! but that was a bootleg techno job from belgium
