Notes

3LP release on black vinyl. A printed cardboard outer jacket contains all three records, each with their own printed inner cardboard sleeve. Each sleeve has a photo printed on each side, along with a corresponding record side letter.

Tracklist for Shenzhou differs slightly from the original CD release. Heat Leak (A3) and Ancient Campfire (B1) have swapped places.

I picked up a copy a few days ago. No problems with mine! Nice and clean. I must have picked up the second pressing.

Not sure whether mine is first or second press (bought from Juno mid March 2018) but gave it a good clean with a vacuum RCM and it is 99% free from any noise. Obviously there are a few tracks that have sampled noise from records etc I presume people can tell the difference and aren't thinking that is pressing noise.

Got the second pressing today and gave it a whole spin without a wet clean. It sounds leagues better than the original I had, a rare click or two per side but that's about it!

The 2-nd press reissue will out on or around March 9, 2018.

Don‘t buy this. The label has halted sales on their bandcamp page due to production faults. An improved repress is expected early this year. Until then - stay patient for the treatment this fantastic album really deserves!

Another masterpiece from Biosphere but sadly a noisy pressing. Tried two different copies and exactly the same issues... clicks and surface noise all over the 3 records, with some persistance on the right channel and in the begining of the songs.

I cleaned my copy before playing it for the first time, and so far record one is almost perfect - just a very few tiny pops. So far..

Not-the-Same

mine were also full of noisy and loud clicks/pops which make certain sides unlistenable. I sent an email to Biophon recs. My LP was ordered through an online retailer but I am hoping that I will receive a replacement nevertheless.

I received the 2 copies from amazon.co.uk.Biophon now suggests to clean the records but I am still having the same issues, it is not static in my case. However, some users are reporting perfect copies and that in some cases the problems went away with a good cleaning. Might not be a problem with the whole batch but with some copies only.

I just received n email from Biosphere...'Announcement Shenzhou vinyl reissueWe have discovered that our copies of Shenzhou 3xLP are faulty with clicks and pops on all the tracks.The test pressings were perfect, but the final copies are horrible, at least all the copies we´ve checked.Let us know if your copy is faulty and we will send out replacement copies as soon as we get new copies from Pallas.'

Anarus

There is intended noise and there is unwanted/pressing noise. Clicks/ticks and plops are not supposed to be there. Click noise from looping and ambient noise are part of the compositions. Knowing well the artist’s work is easy to see the difference.The Debussy's source only applies to records 1 and 2, not to record number 3.However pressing details (noises) may differ from record to record. You might be luckier than me :)

Are you sure it's not "intended noise" as the loops were sourced from scratched Debussy records? Have you compared to original CD release? My copy arrived moments ago so I'll be able to compare and revert today/tomorrow.
