The title »die erweiterung des alphabets (the extension of the alphabet)« was a programmatic title. Stanley (Stefan Römer) published this soundpieces 1988 for the occasion of a performance in Brühler Schloß on a 7" single: »die erweiterung des alphabets« and »...gesichter in der wand in der luft...« .
At that time he made performances which included different soundsstructures; they were mixed live from many parallel running endless- and standard-cassettes plus live microphones.
- »die erweiterung des alphabets« is a cut-up, underlining the political act of using samples: from politicians, others and field recordings; added is an industrial rhythm on metal sheets and pieces.
- »...gesichter in der wand in der luft...« was a live recorded co-production between the three involved individuals with an experimental psycho narration, using: Korg MS-20, SQ-10-Sequenzer and Copycat (WEM) with a mono tape deck.
