Another slab of late nineties darkside. Both tracks are heavy on the dark atmospherics with 'Turbulence' being the stronger of the 2 tracks. Heavily chopped breaks get the track started alongside eerie synth sounds and ominous screeches. However that's just the warm up. When the 2nd drop hits at 4: minutes and 24 seconds it introduces the nastiest, most twisted Reece sound coupled with chopped up, thundering bass and pitched down amens which makes the track sound like a rollercoaster ride to hell. 'Desolation' is a little more restrained in comparison to it's partner on the flipside, but is no less dark. Loads of 'alien' like wailing sounds and screeches overlay pounding bass throbs and more chopped up breaks. I'm sure that there are elements from Aphex Twin's 'Selected Ambient Works Volume II' sampled in this, but would have to dig out the album to confirm. All in all, a pinnacle of tech-step releases.
