This is a recording intended to sooth newborn babies to sleep, by reproducing the sounds inside the womb, and based on the research of a Japanese obstetrician. The first four tracks consist of recordings taken from inside an 8 month pregnant woman and the remaining four tracks on side one fade from these into light classical music in a fairly abrupt and slightly disconcerting manner. The second side consists only of classical recordings (on the grounds that they will be familiar to an older child).I got quite excited when I found this as my wife was due to give birth. Sad to say it didn't give the results promised though we might not have played it before the two week mark as instructed. The transitions were a little strange and its didn't work as well, in my limited tests, as playing white/pink noise. Parents of newborns should note that we found the latter to be remarkably effective though, and something of a lifesaver at times. It continues to work with out daughter at nine months old (who by now shows a high degree of recognition, not to mention appreciation) of music.
