"Mats G Plays Gullin" is the final record of a trilogy of solo recordings made by Mats Gustafsson in tribute to some of his favourite jazz composers, using their compositions, it was him on sax and live electronics, the first "Mats G Plays Duke E" paid homage to Duke Ellington, the 2nd "Mats G. Plays Albert A." to Albert Ayler and final one was to Swedish saxophonist Lars Gullin. The recordings were originally issued as single sided LP's, then compiled and released in 2014 on cd as Torturing The Saxophone.
