I got this album through a friend, back in the late 90s. It was one of those random recommendations in an era of various eclectic musical experiments that flourished in post-communist central and eastern Europe. The neo-psychedelic musical outburst mixed together all the seemingly impossible musical and cultural ingredients, forming hypnotic, outlandish, trippy sounds that seemed uprooted and impossible to categorise. Night in the open country, fires burning, the air's vibrating with music.... people join in the musical frenzy. The album has similar energy. Its rich, psychedelic instrumentation, spacey guitar solos, mythic, ritualistic rhythms and cold synthetic sounds build a large, ever-changing landscape of a neo-hippie night trip.The mood varies from uplifting to dark (Track 3 the most disturbing with its atmosphere of a crazy, city-night car chase), the tracks flow from one to another with a kind of story-telling quality. I'm not too keen on rock music, but this album provides a different kind of trip into a post-communist summer-of-love landscape, where an experience-seeking listener might find surprising rewards.
